CERMET provides customers with conventional MIM Fe-based stainless steel feedstock, but also specializes in titanium, copper, aluminum, tungsten, tungsten carbide and other reactive metals feedstock. In smart devices, high-end flagship mobile phones/watches/MR devices, MIM products are usually used as exterior and structural parts, and we mainly promote catalytic degreasing process for metal injection molding feedstock products, which can be used to manufacture MIM products with net weight adjustable in the range of 0.1~1500g, and our customer's special products include medical micro-tools, large-scale molds and fixtures, and structural parts for electronic products.

CERMET's MIM-Titanium injection molding feedstock technology has an excellent low carbon/oxygen/nitrogen PPM content, which provides excellent sintering properties in the final product, as well as competitive pricing. CERMET has up to 20 years of professional metal/ceramic injection molding technology research and development experience, from the material side to the process end of the full coverage, but also committed to provide customers with the full process of production standards, our products have been served in the various large-scale electronics manufacturing enterprises.

 

In addition, we conduct process screening for our customers' product requirements, and we have process routes for a full range of feedstock sizes in metal/ceramic injection molding technology, usually the main ones: catalytic debinding, solvent debinding, and thermal debinding for the three mainstream processes with different feedstock sizes.

Specialty Metal Feeding 

  • MIM-Ti titanium and titanium alloy feedstock: TA1-TA4, TC4(Ti-6Al-4V) grades, etc.
  • MIM Copper (Cu), Tungsten (W), Tungsten Carbide (WC-Co) and other reactive metal feedstock. 
  • MIM stainless steel (316L, 304, 17-4PH, 440C, F75),  Iron-based ( Fe8Ni), soft magnetic (FeSi3), deharable alloys and other conventional national standard grades.
  • Special customized non-standard grade feeding can be designed and adjusted at the material end, or in the process flow, to analyze the product requirements specifically. 

According to the customer's MIM product material/property/structure requirements, as well as the requirements of mold adaptation in injection molding, we can make customized adjustments to our feeding products, such as adjusting the shrinkage rate, or degreasing methods. The polymer-plastic base-acid stripping process is a priority in the application of metal injection molding (MIM) technology, thanks to the efficient and fast catalytic cleavage of POM polymers, which is the only choice for MIM production. The binder content is usually less than 30% and contains a variety of polymers that are essential for the subsequent processes.

CIM and MIM feeds usually require reasonable viscosity and homogeneity between particles, and the key characterization is the consideration of the degree of agglomeration, and the coefficient of thermal expansion. The rheological behavior of the different feeds is revealed by elasto-plastic fluid viscosity and shear rate analysis. The vast majority of CIM feeds are shear-thinning-post-thickening mechanisms.
